Know what product is being discussed

A consultation cannot be judged well if the medicine stays vague.

The approved lane

These are public FDA facts as of late September 2026; check the current label before you rely on them.

Current labels

As of September 2026, DailyMed, the US government’s online library of medicine labels, listed two current tesamorelin labels: EGRIFTA SV and EGRIFTA WR.

Not interchangeable

The label says the two versions are made differently, use different doses, and cannot be swapped for each other.

No approved copy

As of September 2026, no generic or copycat tesamorelin had FDA approval.

No national shortage record

A late-September 2026 check of FDA's national drug shortage list found no tesamorelin entry.

Checklist

What to get in writing

Ask for details before comparing price or delivery.

  • Exact name

Look for the full product name, not only the word tesamorelin.

  • Who sends it

Ask which licensed pharmacy fills and ships the prescription.

  • What the label says

Compare the proposed use with the current FDA label.

  • What it is not

As of September 2026, a research vial or a blend with another peptide is not one of the approved products.

Being missing from the FDA shortage list only means no shortage was recorded. It says nothing about whether a product is safe.
