The visit map

What a careful visit needs to cover

The point is not to pass a quiz. It is to give the prescriber enough detail to judge whether the medicine fits.

Checklist

Before the visit

A short note can save time and make the talk more concrete.

  • Your goal

Describe the body change or concern that led to the search.

  • Your health history

Include HIV care, past or active cancer, pregnancy, diabetes, and recent serious illness. Also mention anything that affected the pituitary gland, the small gland under the brain that makes growth hormone, such as surgery there, radiation to the head, or a serious head injury.

  • Your medicine list

Include prescriptions, over-the-counter products, and supplements. Say so if you take steroid pills such as prednisone because your adrenal glands, small glands above the kidneys, do not make enough of their own.

  • Your past results

Bring any recent blood sugar or IGF-1 result if it already exists. Do not order a test just for this guide.

Compare

During the visit

A careful review connects the label to the person.

Fit

The current label directs prescribers to check blood sugar before treatment and from time to time during treatment.

Monitoring

The label also calls for IGF-1 checks and closer eye monitoring for people with diabetes.

Limits

If an exam, scan, or lab is needed, the prescriber can arrange it or send the patient to local care.

Keep moving

One answer at a time is enough.
